NOMENCLATURE OF RAGGING:

Ragging is a form of bullying or hazing that takes place in educational institutions, particularly in colleges and universities. It involves acts of violence, physical or psychological abuse, or humiliation inflicted on new or junior students by senior students. Ragging is illegal and considered a criminal offense in many countries. It is condemned by educational institutions and student organizations, and is widely recognized as a serious problem that must be eradicated.

ANTI-RAGGING GUIDELINES OF THIS INSTITUTION:

Anti-ragging measures in this college aim to prevent and address the problem of ragging, which is a form of physical, mental or emotional abuse of new students by senior students. These measures include:

  • Clear anti-ragging policies and laws with severe punishments for violators.
  • Regular sensitization and awareness campaigns for students, teachers and staff.
  • An anonymous reporting mechanism for students to report incidences of ragging.
  • Prompt and impartial investigations of reported cases of ragging.
  • Provision of support and counselling for victims of ragging.
  • Taking strong and effective anti-ragging measures to create a safe and supportive environment for all students.

In concurrence with the regulations on curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions by UGC, India: ‘UGC Regulation on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions 2009’ this institution is determined to act accordingly.

Students may send their complaint directly to any member of the anti-ragging committee on their email ids.
Mandatory submission of “Anti-Ragging Affidavit” at the time of admission

As per UGC’s regulations, it is mandatory for every student and his/her parents to submit an “Anti-Ragging Affidavit” at the time of admission and thereafter each year at the time of annual registration.
Hence, all the students, especially 1st SEM (BFA) students and M.F. A. 1 semester students are hereby instructed to fill out the anti-ragging Affidavit form available online at the website: www.antiragging.in
