Life in Kolkata

City of Joy is the other name given to Kolkata by all the people who love the city. In the city people can enjoy simultaneously a modern lifestyle and a rich cultural heritage of more than 300 years. With a spirit that refuses to die down in spite of political ups and downs, Kolkata is the place to be for thinking minds.

Kolkata welcomes everyone with hospitality that is perhaps unmatched in any other city in the country. This city of festivals and events has long enjoyed the status of being the culture capital of India. Durga Puja to Kolkata Book Fair, Christmas to International Film Festival - any event sets the city mood high.

The first capital of British India, Kolkata is popularly known as the City of Palaces. The heritage buildings in the city are clustered mainly in central and north Kolkata, while the IT hub with its modern architecture is located in Salt Lake.

Students of GCAC who come to Kolkata from other cities, usually fall in love with this place, just like its residents. The city oozes with warmth for all and allows them, with open arms, to live here and make it their home.
